The Paper Nautilus

Touch became a method of documentation, pulling out history, forming memories. Moment by moment. Gesture by gesture. The mixture of sweat and ink blended into life-giving water that flows onto the page to erect a home.

I do not have an answer, but in the Vietnamese tradition, there is a famous poem that any child could recite: Công cha như núi Thái Sơn, Nghĩa mẹ như nước trong nguồn chảy ra: A father’s labor is like that of a tall mountain, a mother’s love is like an unceasable aquifer.

That’s nice: she replied: but if it’s a portal, why do you still need to use airplanes?

For what is a king without the people? What is a king without his knights to defend him, his castles to protect him, his bishops to guide him? What is a king without his love, his queen?

Blue upon blue: the morning horizon unfolded the blue vellum into the sky and the sea. There, I looked, in my innocent youth, beyond the ocean, to catch sight of a home inside the gleaming dawn.

A book unfolds a platform for life: a story begins.

March 27th, 2018…

The World is but a Stage for Plays.

A sixteen feet by ten feet gallery floor became a space-situation where: Loose Leaf unfolded into Moment Resisting Connections unfolded into The Pacific unfolded into One and One is One.
